Strengthen your plant care-taking skills & learn something new in our Terrarium and Plant Parenthood workshops. Listen to live jazz amongst the plants, attend a poetry reading, and listen to our featured artist talks. We love to bring the community together and combine nature, creativity and connection for a more verdant life.

Cultivate is Your friendly neighborhood plant shop

Located in Evanston’s Main-Dempster Mile shopping district, Cultivate is a woman-owned, independent plant shop and art gallery. We are here to help you locate the perfect plants and to make your experience an enjoyable one. Houseplants bring life into our living and work spaces. To make your plant owning journey easier, we offer consultations, repotting, workshops, local delivery, and space planning services. Bring us your questions and any plant troubles and we will do our best to coach you.

Cultivate offers a unique atmosphere that brings art, music, and plant life together for an unforgettable event experience. Join us for a jazz show, art opening, artist talk, or poetry reading. Check our calendar for upcoming events.

Green Business

We sell only organic soils and fertilizer for various types of plants. In our garden center, we encourage our customers to receive emailed receipts to cut down on paper usage. We use only environmentally-friendly paint on our walls. Our recycling is larger than our trash,  and we are always looking for ways to repurpose supplies. We are almost entirely LED lit. All of our bags, boxes, and tissue paper are made of 100% recycled material.

Our Shop

We are open and available to help you find the perfect plants and gifts 6 days a week! Visit our shop on Main Street for a unique urban rainforest experience. Breathe in the plant life and find your very own plants to make your home a little (or big) rainforest as well!

Coming soon: Check back for our new online shop to purchase gifts, art, books, and plant supplies from the comfort of your home. We’ll make an announcement in our newsletter and on social media when it’s live, so make sure to follow us and sign up for updates.
